WATER SUMMIT
Thursday, Nov 25th 2010
Croke Park, Dublin |
|
Half Full: Our Water Future Policy, Management and Reform |
Introduction
The 4th National Water Summit is being held at a pivotal
time for the water sector in this country. Minister for the
Environment, Heritage and Local Government,
Mr. John Gormley T.D. announced earlier this year an
increase in investment for replacing water mains across
the country. Over the next three years, investment will
increase five-fold to €300 million! This, coupled with
other recent developments in the sector have ensured a
full, interesting and maybe even controversial agenda for
this year’s summit.
The summit will look at the advent of domestic metering,
industry reform, innovation and new technologies,
conservation, legislation, and priorities for investment.
These are but a snapshot of the changes taking place
in our water industry. There are many more. Some
exciting, some challenging, others even scary, and more
still all three!
The 4th National Water Summit, organised by iQuest, is
an event of major interest to all stakeholders in Ireland’s
water future. The summit includes an impressive line-up
of speakers, visionary leaders, international and national
experts - all professionally involved with water - who will
deliver succinct presentations and case studies, allowing
time at the end for an open forum to discuss the issues
participants find most interesting and prevalent.
